Take a moment to meet the staff here at Our Savior Church!

Pastor Schmidt was born on August 13, 1971 in Cottonwood, Minnesota.  He was christened Gregory Harstad Schmidt on September 19th of that same year.  He attended public schools all the way through high school.  In 1992 he graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota.  For his junior year in college he attended the Institute for German Studies in Bemidji, Minnesota.

In 1994 Pastor Schmidt received his B.A. in German from Concordia Moorhead University in Moorhead, Minnesota.  His seminary training began in 1998.  He attended Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in Mankato, Minnesota.

For his year-long vicarage he was assigned to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Naples, Florida.  After graduating from the seminary in 2002 he received and accepted his first call to be the pastor of Our Savior in Naples, Florida.

Rev. Schmidt was married to Julia Tweit on July 22, 2000. Since then they have been blessed with five beautiful children.

Wally and Judy Tews are the music staff of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Wallace Tews began his music education with undergraduate and graduate studies in music education with a major in voice and minor in keyboard.   After graduation he taught public school for a couple of years, and then changed course and spent 30 years with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, ending the last 10+ years in senior management.

Judy Tews did her undergrad work in piano performance, hoping to have a career as a professional accompanist.  She has played at numerous weddings, private parties, accompanied soloists and community choruses, and performed in musical theatre.  Like Wallace, Judy also changed course and joined the Department of Revenue where she spent 28 years.  This is where fate brought Judy and Wally together.

When Judy and Wally moved to Naples, their retirement course had been cast:  To re-enter the music field in the areas of keyboard and voice.  Today they provide music for OSLC in the areas of church services, weddings and funerals, choral choir, bell choir, and solo work, with Wally being the Director of Music, and Judy the Assistant Director.
