Our Savior Lutheran Church - Ladies Circle

We are fortunate to have an active Ladies Circle.  The group is vital to the success of many event here at Our Savior Church.

The objectives of the Women of Our Savior are:

- To serve the Lord with gladness

- To provide for active participation in Christian service in the congregation

- To develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness and to promote mission endeavors of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod

- To promote spiritual growth

- To foster Christian fellowship

The Women of Our Savior are an active and inclusive group. Every year we participate in church functions and hold several events of our own. We welcome women of all ages from our church to our friendly and diverse group. The Women of Our Savior meet monthly on the third Tuesday of every month. The Women of Our Savior are governed by a board that includes a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The work of the Women of Our Savior has helped decorate our beautiful sanctuary for the changing seasons. It has supported our religious education programs and our misisonary outreach effort and has helped provide the church with new choir risers, new hymnals and other items.

A few of the activities by the Women of Our Savior include:

Women of Our Savior Board: This organization includes the formation of Circles which meet separately and are responsible for a particular area of service to the church. The Board is comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.   It meets monthly to discuss past, present, and future issues and strongly encourages participation of all women of the congregation.

Altar Circle: The Altar Circle is entrusted with the privilege of preparing the chancel and its furnishings for worship. The overall goal of those providing altar care is to see that the worship space is kept beautiful and in good order, both to glorify God and to provide a setting which enables the congregation to worship in a meaningful way. The Altar Circle meets as needed.

Friendship Circle: The Friendship Circle is a social arm of our church.   This group maintains contact with the congregation’s shut-ins and with members who are ill, offering to arrange help if necessary.  The group schedules greeters to be on duty at each worship service.  The Friendship Circle also maintains the church Library, which is well stocked and well used.  Finally, the Friendship Circle has seasonal projects such as providing Christmas bags for the children after their Christmas Program each year.  The Friendship Circle meets on a regular basis.

Kitchen Circle: Our Savior Lutheran Church enjoyes a Fellowship Hall that includes a fabulous kitchen.  We have an excellent set-up with commercial appliances which allows us to conduct wonderful events for our congregation, from coffee and cakes after Sunday Worship to large multi-seating events such as the annual Spaghetti Dinner.   The kitchen circle meets as needed.

Craft Bazaars: The Women of Our Savior have sponsored tremendous Holiday Bazaars.  For these events, the ladies created the crafts and prepared the baked goods.  The Youth Group prepared lunch each day of the event and also prepared crafts.  This event also included a Silent Auction.  We had the participation of outside vendors.  It was a huge success for our Church with the profits going toward the purchase of risers for our choir, new hymnals for our church, supplies needed by our Sunday School, and money to missions.  It was also successful from the standpoint of wonderful fellowship which created new friends and strengthened other friendships.

Missions: Our "Mites for Missions" program enables us to support our ELS mission church in the United States and abroad to our foreign mission churches.  We send a representative to the Synod's Mission Society, and this representative spearheads the mission-support work of our church.  In addition, Our Savior Lutheran Church participates in the spring and fall rallies according to a pre-planned schedule of duties.  We successfully hosted the Fall Women’s Mission Rally in 2009.
